National homebuilder Lennar has created a new concept in living called Next Gen---A Home Within A Home---in Southwest Florida. Aging parents and their post-college children, who are moving back home after college, are changing the American lifestyle, and Lennar has stepped in with a unique home design to accommodate multi-generations of family members who choose to live together under one roof; yet, the homes offer separate suites with its own separate entry, eat-in kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, laundry room and living room.
As buyers look to moving to a long-term living situation, many baby boomers are living longer with smaller pensions and higher health costs in an unsteady economy with grown children shouldering college debt and high costs of living. More families are living together for longer periods of time. Families will be able to share the cost of their mortgage and other living expenses by sharing a home, under new home designs created by home builder Lennar.
Lennar’s Next Gen home designs are appealing to many residents of Southwest Florida. There are two floor plans: The Liberation and Independence. Each floor plan offers separate living quarters for either an active or elderly adult, and their adult children. Each plan features 5-6 BR / 3.5-4.5 BA/ 3,357-3,867 SF.
Next Gen---A Home Within A Home Design---are available in the following Southwest Florida neighborhoods:
- Cape Coral: Bella Vida
- Estero: Bella Terra; Preserve at Corkscrew
- Fort Myers: The Forum; Reflection Isles
- Naples: Ave Marie; Copper Cove; Orange Blossom; Reflection Lakes
