Plans are now underway for another new neighborhood in the world’s first solar-powered, sustainable town. Parkside at Babcock Ranch joins the greater master-planned community of Babcock Ranch, with plans for Pulte Homes to soon construct a number of new residences in the area.
Pulte recently joined a distinct group of homebuilders already constructing in Babcock Ranch, with the new floor plans and prices designed to appeal to both young families as well as empty nesters. Said to be priced from the $200,000s to the mid $300,000s, the homes of Parkside will sit on 50-foot lots, located just to the southeast of Founder’s Square.
Pulte joins such companies as Stock Development, Homes by Towne and Fox Premiere Builders in constructing new homes within the environmentally friendly town. Eventually, plans call for more than 19,000 homes and millions of square feet of commercial space to be housed within Babcock Ranch, with an estimated 50,000 people living within the town at build-out.
A community and town all in itself, Babcock Ranch is quickly changing the vision of planned communities, with an innovative design calling for a small-town atmosphere, centered around plentiful green space, advanced technology and sustainability. Found between Sarasota and Fort Myers, Babcock Ranch is focused on green building standards and affordability.
Each future neighborhood within Babcock Ranch will include community gardens, while plans also call for the existence of local schools, shops and services within a short walk or bike ride away. Additionally, plans call for self-driving, electric-powered shuttles to replace cars in the town, while the downtown area presents dining, shops and a true hometown experience for its residents.
While Parkside at Babcock Ranch is currently underway, other model homes within the community’s very first neighborhood, Lake Timber, are already available. The town’s original single-family neighborhood is providing homes priced starting in the mid $300,000s, located within a short walk of all of the future offerings of Founder’s Square.
